It is time to outlaw the individual ownership of automobiles in the United States. Each year (over the last 20 years) over 35,000 people have been killed in automobile accidents, over 10,000 people by drunk drivers alone. This is a moral outrage. People just have too easy of an accesses to automobiles, in California alone unlicensed are a problem. Drivers who are unlicensed or have a suspended or revoked license are nearly three times more likely to cause a fatal crash, a new California Department of Motor Vehicles study found.
I found myself standing outside on a very cold first day of winter in Southern California just outside of the City of Los Angeles in the Angeles Crest Forest. With a cup of warm coffee in hand, I was talking to a group of combat hardened veterans about the events of the day that we had in front of us.
