Apartment prepper comment response

Aug 7th, 2012 | By | Category: BFTC Featured

There was a comment that was made the other day in the article I did on Growing Garlic at Home, the comment was “Honestly if you are in an apartment and the flag goes up you are in a world of hurt.”  That may be true, in a lot of disaster situations an apartment is not the place to be for the reasons

  • Unless everyone in your  complex is a prepper you will be the target for supply’s.
  • In a natural disaster some apartment structures are not the safest places to stay a single story place my have more of a chance.
  • space has a lot to do with it also do you have enough room to store all your preps?

My apartment is not the safest place if a disaster hits,  my floors shake when a heavy truck rolls by.  That’s why I have a network or better known as your plan B.  Your network is other places you can go and people you can rely on to help you through any disaster situation that are preppers as well, for example if the SHTF, or a disaster should happen I can go to Oregon, Tennessee, or Utah where I know I have a safe place to rebuild and get the help and suport I would need.  Your own network can consist of friends and family that is why it is important to talk to them and get them on board.

So yes apartments are not the safest place to be in a disaster or SHTF situation so set up a network make a plan B don’t get stuck having to search for a place at the last min.

This doesn’t mean you cant live in an apartment and prep, you can still grow your own vegie’s and herbs,  stock up on food, water, and supply’s and plan for option B.

Thank you for reading and thank you for your comments.  Good luck where ever you prep.
