Farmageddon The Film: American Small Farmers Under Attack

I was tooling around YouTube the other day and I came across this story on a documentary called “Farmageddon.” If you are a regular reader of BFTC you know that we are a liberty loving website and I have written on the abuses of the government relegations coming down hard on our local farmers and small food producers in the past. So the film Farmageddon is right up my ally of things that interest me. However, you will know that I am not a pushover when it comes to my reviews.

Farmageddon tells the story of small, family farms  that were providing safe, healthy foods to their communities and were forced to stop, sometimes through violent action by government agents and seeks to figure out why.

Here it is, this film cuts deep into the issues facing the family farm today.  Kristin Canty (Film Director)  takes the viewer on a journey throughout the United States and introduces us to small farmers that want to provide good clean food to their customers.  The farmers are not looking to cut corners, feed the animals cheep contaminated feed, and keep them in pens living on top of each other. That my friends is the  MO of the factory farm. The live stock and food that the small farmer produce is field fed and hand grown.

One of the takeaways that I got from watching this film, is the government spends a crap load of money going after the small guy. The factory farms, fast food pink slime burgers, processed chicken parts and alike are left alone. Food from these factory farms are killing us and poisoning our children. And the progressives are for free choice?

The question that I need to ask is simple. Why? Why are we sending SWAT teams to the farms where children live and rousting them up and pointing firearms at them? Why does the FDA have the use of a SWAT team to begin with in the first place? Why are we allowing the allocation of funds to be wasted like this? I know that is not for my protection, for if it was the FDA would not let “Pink Slime” into our schools and on our kids plate.

I love the market place and this film is all about the free market, liberty, free choice and a bunch of people wanting to make their own educated choices of what they feed their families.  Take the time to get this film, have some friends over for some raw milk and raw goat cheese and enjoy the conversation you all will have after. Hay do they make organic beer too on one of the farms? That is a question for a different story!

Thanks for reading,
