Survival Kit: What Is It…

A survival kit is as a survival kit does. What does it do? It serves a purpose. To help get you safely to your next destination, be it literally or metaphorically.
A survival kit is…
An insurance policy.
A personal and unique set of ‘tools’.
Different from one to the next.
A set of things to keep you alive, safe, mobile.
Sometimes portable and sometimes not so much.
Sometimes fits in your pockets, other times a back pack.
Big, small, and all in-between.
Often hidden in plain site.
An inspiration of self-reliance.
Filled with items dependent upon it’s intention or specific purpose.
Thought provoking of your state of readiness.
A stepping stone from trouble to safety.
Taking responsibility for one’s self.
A shining light in a dark and fearful hour.
A ray of hope.
Variable in nearly infinite ways.
Sometimes a reflection of you.
Practical and bold at the same time.
An example that we don’t need that much to survive.
Your friend in a time of trouble.
Assurance that you can get there.
And most of all… a sign of the times.
